Look inside the 'luxury tiny home' that cost $35,000 to build |
In 2019, Precious Price bought a 1,400-square-foot, three-bedroom home in Atlanta for $196,000. Her plan was to rent out the spare rooms for extra income, but 2020 didn't go as she (or anyone) expected. "No one wanted to share a house with a stranger in the early days of the pandemic," she wrote for CNBC Make It. "My work travels also stopped, so I was living alone in a house that felt too big." While looking into her spacious backyard, Price realized it was big enough to accommodate a tiny home which she could move into while renting out the main house. It cost $35,000 to build the tiny home, where she now lives for free. And she earned $32,000 renting out her main house in January 2023 alone. |
This Week We Tried: Jeni's Ted Lasso Ice Cream Emmy-winning TV show "Ted Lasso" has partnered with Jeni's Splendid Ice Creams to put out a new limited-edition flavor just in time for the premiere of the show's third season. The flavor, "Biscuits with the Boss," is based on the cookies that the show's main character bakes each morning for the owner of fictional U.K. soccer team AFC Richmond. It's a salty, sweet cream base with crumbled shortbread cookies mixed in. The flavor "transports you to the sidelines of a UK football match without leaving the couch," Jeni's says. I tried out the new ice cream ahead of its release. My short review? It's definitely buttery. So much so, in fact, that if you're not a fan of butter, I'd probably recommend that you steer clear. For me, however, that wasn't a problem in the slightest. The shortbread crumbles added nice texture to the ice cream, too. — Pop Culture Reporter Nick Vega |
