EDITOR'S NOTE
Thanksgiving week is typically a good one for the stock market, and it's usually a quiet one.
"The last five trading days of November are traditionally positive, since 1950," said Sam Stovall, chief investment strategist at CFRA.
The big news in the week ahead could be the identity of the next Federal Reserve chairman. Will Jerome Powell keep his seat? Or will Fed Governor Lael Brainard be named? Either way, it could be a trading event.
There is also some key economic news, with the Fed's preferred inflation measure, the personal consumption expenditure deflator on Wednesday, along with durable goods.
