S&P 500 rises for fourth day | Guggenheim's Minerd is bullish on stocks | Bitcoin futures ETF debuts Tuesday

The S&P 500 and Nasdaq gained Monday as investors looked ahead to key earnings reports.

Strong results from the prior week's quarterly results have pushed the major averages close to all-time highs, and investors were betting on that continued strength.   Economic data from China weighed on investor sentiment after it reported low GDP and industrial production for September that fell short of expectations. Industrial production in the U.S. also fell for September as supply constraints continued to hinder manufacturing, the Federal Reserve reported Monday.   Bitcoin was on investors' minds. ProShares announced its much-anticipated bitcoin futures ETF will officially debut on the New York Stock Exchange Tuesday under the ticker BITO.  The first bitcoin futures ETF falls short of what crypto investors really want: a spot bitcoin ETF that would allow them to invest directly in the digital coin.   Bitcoin was trading at roughly $61,300 late Monday, but Fundstrat's Tom Lee believes the virtual currency could go over $100,000 — especially after the ProShares ETF rolls out.   "There are some views that the run up in Bitcoin prices $BTC is already discounting this approval. To an extent, this is probably true, since Bitcoin has surged to near all-time highs in the past few weeks. But in our view, the price of Bitcoin will continue to rise, well after actual approval of the ETF," Lee said in a note to clients.
