A NOTE FROM BOB
Some ETF indexers are wasting no time adding oil giant Saudi Aramco to their indexes. Aramco went public December 11, but FTSE Russell is not waiting around. On Wednesday, that index provider said newly public Aramco will join the FTSE All-World Index, FTSE Global Large Cap Index and the FTSE Emerging Markets Index on December 23. That means Aramco will go into the $12.1 billion Vanguard Total World Stock ETF VT, +0.88%, which tracks a similar FTSE index. Waiting for word from rival MSCI.
More join the no-commission trading bandwagon. Wells Fargo Advisors dropping commissions on stocks and ETFs from WellsTrade, its self-directed trading platform, right after Bank of America announced it would eliminate commissions from its trading app, Merrill Edge. ETFs keep getting bigger, and not just in the U.S. The U.S. ETF business went from $2 trillion to over $3 trillion this year. Global ETFs have accumulated a record $6 trillion in assets under management, doubling in size in under four years, according to Deborah Fuhr.
