A NOTE FROM BOB
Investing in Environmental Social and Governance (ESG) is one of the hottest trends in ETFs. But the movement has come under fire for failing to address exactly what is meant by the term "ESG." Join me on Monday at 1 PM ET when our guests will be Doug Peterson, President & CEO, S&P Global, who runs S&P Dow Jones Indices, one of the largest indexing companies in the world. Doug will address what standards should be advanced to better define ESG and will also respond to SEC Chair Gary Gensler's proposed rule on climate change disclosure, which he is also unveiling Monday. He'll be joined by Todd Rosenbluth, Head of Research at ETF Trends. ETFedge.cnbc.com
Metaverse and climate/carbon are hot right now. ProShares launched their Metaverse ETF (VERS) this week, which includes a range of subthemes like technology, platforms, devices, interchange standards and data processing that are all tied to the growth of the metaverse. And KraneShares launched their Global Carbon Transformation ETF (Ticker: KGHG), an active ETF that invests in companies in traditionally high emitting industries proactively focused on carbon transformation.
Cathie Wood is hot again. After seeing outflows for a good part of 2022, her flagship ARK Innovation Fund (ARKK) has seen shares outstanding rise for several weeks, from 170 million shares outstanding on February 23rd to 191 million shares today. Interestingly, this does not correspond to the stock price, which kept declining until bottoming earlier this week. She still has fans. For more analysis and actionable insights, catch me live this Monday at 1 PM ET on ETF Edge. KEY STORIES
