The Dow Jones Industrial Average ended another day near the flatline on Thursday as the market's strong momentum to begin February started to lose steam.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average banked a loss for the session, but the S&P 500 and the Nasdaq Composite managed to eke out small gains. A disappointing weekly jobless claims number dented sentiment on Wall Street.  First-time claims for unemployment insurance totaled 793,000 last week, higher than expected.   Stocks hit record highs earlier this month as investors bet on another round of fiscal stimulus. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi expects Democrats will pass their next coronavirus relief package before the end of February.   The recent surge in cannabis stocks reversed course on Thursday, as the Reddit trade appeared to unravel. Shares of Tilray were cut in half on Thursday.
