In the 2020 U.S. House and Senate races, female candidates, on average, outraised men and nearly closed the fundraising gap in state-level contests, according to a new report from the Center for Responsive Politics and the National Institute on Money and Politics. The report also found that 33% of congressional campaign donations and 31% of donations for state-level campaigns came from women. "Women are donating to campaigns in record numbers. In the early 1980s, Moscow banned women from driving the city's subway trains stating that the restriction was designed to protect "women from tough burdens of the job and unfavorable work conditions." Now, decades later, that ban has been overturned. "Women are finally driving Moscow's subway trains after a decades-long ban" (CNN)
