Only 34 Black women founders had each raised more than $1 million in venture capital funding in 2018. This year, that number has nearly tripled to 93 Black women, according to Project Diane, a biennial report on Black and Latinx women founders. A report from the group One Fair Wage finds that more than 80% of service workers, who are mostly women, are seeing a decline in tips as a result of the coronavirus pandemic, and more than 40% are experiencing an increase in sexual harassment from customers.
