Coronavirus fears: Not cracking confidence yet. Worries around the outbreak haven't weighed too much on inflows, even as some investors flock to safe-haven assets like gold. Sector inflows notched a January record of $7 billion earlier this month, according to State Street, and now, industrials, materials and tech are seeing outsized interest with the U.S.-China "phase one" trade deal behind us.

"You're really going to get to see that there's a major difference in ETFs beyond the fees" as the race to zero rolls on, says Todd Rosenbluth, senior director of ETF and mutual fund research at CFRA.
