Oil and oil stocks in May |

Oil is now down roughly 12%. Chevron is down 10.7%. Exxon Mobil is down nearly 14%. The Energy Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLE), which tracks the S&P Energy sector, is down 10%. The Invesco Solar ETF (TAN) is down 2.8%. The iShares Global Clean Energy ETF (ICLN) is down 1.9%.

CrowdStrike and the cyber defense stocks |
CrowdStrike is down 11% after hours after reporting a slowdown in revenue growth, but the company did surpass estimates. The stock is up 52% in 2023 and 33% in May. The ETFMG Prime Cyber Security ETF (HACK) is up 12% in 2023 and up 10% in May. The leading components are Cloudflare, Palo Alto Networks and CrowdStrike. All three are up more than 50% year to date. Cloudflare and Palo Alto are both down this evening slightly in after hours trading. Leidos, A10 Networks and Check Point are among the laggards. The three are negative in 2023.

CNBC's Phil LeBeau will have the numbers Thursday morning. It'll mostly be overseas carmakers. In the past month... Honda is up about 7%. Hyundai is up 2.3%. Ford is up 1%. Toyota is down nearly 1%. GM is down 1.9%. Stellantis is down 8%. Tesla is up 24%. CNBC's "Last Call" reports tonight that Elon Musk is once again the richest man on Earth, surpassing Bernard Arnault.

The stock is down more than 5% in extended trading after Salesforce reported quarterly results this afternoon. However, the stock is the top performer in the Dow this year, up 68.5%. It is also up 12.6% in May — not including this evening's drop. CEO Marc Benioff was on "Mad Money" with Jim Cramer tonight. He said, "Productivity is up. Profitability is up. Revenue is up." Benioff also highlighted the company's "incredible cash flow numbers." He added, "And we're also increasing our margin guidance for the year to our record annual 28%."

CNBC viewers will hear from Honeywell's new CEO Thursday in a report from Seema Mody. Vimal Kapur will talk about the company's future in artificial intelligence. The stock is down 10.6% so far in 2023. Honeywell is 13% off the 52-week high hit last November.
